Cobie Smulders was a former international model and a Canadian actress. She began acting in high school productions, but became a model instead after landing a professional contract overseas. Throughout her modeling career, Cobie Smulders worked in Japan, Germany, Africa, Greece, New York, Caribbean, Milan and Italy, but was still able to finish high school with honors in 2000. Her passion for acting overshadowed her successful modeling career, so Cobie Smulders tried her luck as an actress.

After appearing in TV shows “Special Unit 2,” “Jeremiah” and “Tru Calling” as well as landing a role in the short “Candy from Strangers,” Cobie Smulders earned her first starring role in the ABC program “Veritas: The Quest,” where she played Juliet Droil from 2003 to 2004. Cobie Smulders then continued to receive exposure from films such as “Walking Tall” and “Ill Fated.” After guest-starring in “Andromeda” and “Smallville,” Cobie Smulders won a recurring role on “The L Word,” portraying a photographer named Leigh Ostin who became the love interest of Jennifer Beals.

In 2005, Cobie Smulders became a household name after joining the cast of CBS’ hit sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.” On the show, Cobie plays Robin Scherbatsky, a TV reporter who used to be a former teenage pop star in Canada, who hooked up with the Josh Radnor’s character ‘Ted.’ Cobie Smulders has performed two songs for the show entitled “Let’s Go to the Mall” and “Sandcastles in the Sand.” Since then, Cobie Smulders gained a huge fan base and landed more acting opportunities on the side. While working on the set of “How I Met Your Mother,” Cobie Smulders also appeared on several comedy flicks such as “The Long Weekend” in 2005, “Escape” in 2006, “The Storm Awaits” in 2007 and “The Slammin’ Salmon” in 2008. In 2009, Cobie Smulders was included in AskMen.com’s list of “Top 99 Women.
